Vanuatu Discovery voyage 2006 -
Janet, from the UK, joined the ship at this far flung Pacific destination:

"I joined the Soren Larsen at Santo on 16 October 2006 for the Vanuatu Discovery Voyage.

I was born in 1937 and had never sailed before. From the moment I stepped on board, I was transported to another world, one of warmth, ropes, sails, spray, wind, rain, humour, laughter, muscles, companionship and respect.

The crew were inspiring and the voyage crew guests an amazing mix of people. I loved everyone.

On the islands we visited, I met the chiefs and other members of the local communities; the children were healthy and happy. I watched amazing dances, filled with energy and cultural history. I walked through the lush jungle and sampled local food. I attended a packed church service.

I helped to sail the boat and remain upright in the process. The home cooked food was excellent.

I shall return to England with happy memories from one of the most exciting holidays of my life.
