Refit 2003

Auckland - Bledisloe Wharf, May.

Work continues on deck and rigging as we prepare to sail for the South Pacific. The decks are being recaulked, the bowsprit and jib boom removed and checked, the deckhouse bullnose removed and checked,the main engine stripped down and rebuilt, the starboard genset removed and refurbished, the helm converted to hydraulics, the saloon upholstery renewed, the topsides repainted - and those other two dozen minor jobs that we've been just dying to do...

Soren Larsen and crew started this refit just after Easter and they depart for Tonga on the 5th June!

Bowsprit netting gone	The ironwork is removed	Jibboom prepared for removal	Surefooted Bosun attaches the crane stropes
	Crane lifts the jiboom out	leaving a shorter version	and ashore it goes ..
for sanding and varnishing	team trolly work	Next is the bowsprit	ready to lift out
Daniel, Nick, Frank and Tony	backstay chainplates are removed	Joel refurbishing the deckhouse fittings	Pitch poured into seams
Noreen having fun with main engine cylinder heads and PA10	Sparring partners

The SOUTH PACIFIC Voyage Log will feature regular reports and
