Entries were judged by an independent panel of experts in national tourism and awards were received at a gala ceremony at the Aeota Centre in Auckland.

Unfortunately Tourism Auckland lost the scheme's major sponsor in a 1998 and a replacement has yet to be found.

We feel that perhaps this makes us the present holders of these titles!
